[And Terry comes out to get him, with such a huge smile on his face when he opens the door.]

Hey. You want a beer?

[Maxxie grins right back.]

I'm always up for a beer. You got any of that Chinese left for me or have you eaten the rest?

[traumatizing]

I tried, but I just don't think I'm man enough.

[He gives Maxxie a quick kiss because he can do that now, just kiss him to say hello all casual like, and pads toward the kitchen to get a couple drinks and cutlery for Maxxie too. And then it's to his room they go!]

[Maxxie grins and follows him through, just as giddy about the casual affection and taking the opportunity when Terry turns around to smile to himself.]

I wouldn't be too hard on yourself.

[traumatizing]

I'll get over it. Probably.

[Welcome to his room, and the mess of food on his bed surrounding his laptop. He's gonna pretend that's a totally normal thing and put the beers down while he gets a bottle opener.]

[Maxxie accepts all this as normal and carefully sets himself on the bed, as to avoid knocking anything over, and starts poking around at the food trying to decide what to help Terry finish first.]

So how come you ordered so much?

[traumatizing]

I haven't been eating much lately, so...

[He sits down and gestures around at everything. What's the phrase, eyes bigger than your stomach? That's his problem.]

[Maxxie nods, wondering if that's something he should inquire about.]

[Nope, time to be cute about it.]

You sure it wasn't an excuse to invite me over?

[traumatizing]

[He laughs] Shit, you found me out.

[notahobby]

[Here he is, digging in.]

Terry, you don't need excuses to invite me over anymore.

[traumatizing]

[Well guess who's getting another kiss, on the cheek this time.]

Old habits, you know.

[notahobby]

[The biggest grin, although he doesn't open his mouth because he's chewing and that's gross. He speaks again once he's swallowed.]

So, now that I've told the guys, you can come over whenever you want and we can hang out without pretending we don't also sleep together.

[traumatizing]

[He sighs softly, a little happily, and picks up his discarded fork to pick at some of the food.]

I never realised what a relief that'd be. [He stops poking at some noodles briefly to look at Maxxie with a small smile.] I'm glad you asked me.

[Maxxie smiles affectionately at him.]

Me too. I know it's only been like two days but it feels like we're gonna be good at this, you know?

[traumatizing]

I mean, not to brag but I'm already pretty good at both holding hands and snoring on your chest.

[Primo boyfriend material.]

[Maxxie laughs bashfully, looking down at his food with a grin. He nods, affirming that Terry is indeed pretty good at both of those things, and then he smiles up at him]

You're good at lots of things.

[traumatizing]

[Oh no. He laughs a little sheepishly and bows his head, immediately stuffing some food in his mouth.]

You're pretty good too.

[WOW what a cute boyfriend he has. The cutest. If he weren't busy stuffing his face full of food he'd totally start making out with him right now.]

[traumatizing]

[Terry looks up at him with his mouth full of food and takes a mouthful of beer to go with it because he's classy. Is he still cute now?]

[Just adorable.]

[After a moment of eating in blissful silence, Maxxie bumps Terry with his knee and nods toward the laptop.]

You working on anything?

[traumatizing]

Oh. [He looks at his laptop, nodding.] I was mixing some samples for the next album to show Garnet.

[notahobby]

[Maxxie nods along, raising his eyebrows.]

Are you guys putting out another one soon?

[traumatizing]

Yeah, we're working on a kind of... Alien concept album? [He makes the ill-advised decision to continue eating, picking up a spring roll and taking a bite before he continues.] We're still hammering out the story, but. You know.

[notahobby]

Cool. I think it'd be fun to write an album that's a story. That's not really in Flashstep's wheelhouse, though.

[The way he says it is not really regretful.]

[traumatizing]

You never know. [Oops guess who's already thinking about it.] It'd be kind of interesting. You don't really get that kind of thing in pop music, but how cool would it be? Telling the story in dance and song?
