CHARACTER INFORMATION

NAME: Terrance Ward
ALIAS: Trauma
CANON: Marvel 616
AGE: 28
GENDER: Male
OCCUPATION: ther...apist

AU BACKGROUND:
Terry stayed on at the Institute for a couple of years, being helpful and kind of a flailure at interpersonal relationships. He started part-time study towards getting his qualifications to become a Real Psychologist, but even then he started to feel a bit stagnant at the institute and left to study full-time and do some of that travelling business people keep doing.

Turns out he hates travelling (especially that year abroad, eek,) but he'd also come to the conclusion that he wasn't too keen on going back anywhere he'd been because he's all I HAVE NO HOME MY STATE OF RESIDENCE IS TRANSIENT and it was around this time he a)finished PHASE ONE: GET A DEGREE of his study and b) heard about how Genosha was doing better as a country. He was a little hesitant given that his experience of Magneto has largely involved students being terrorised, but his Need to Help Traumatised Teens/Children/Young Adults sense was going off and, let's be honest, it's not like he was doing anything better with his time. So he packed off to Genosha to work on finishing his qualifications and also to get some experience.

After some time, the Academy was set up/he discovered it was a thing/fucking timelines how do they work, which eased some of his concerns since we all know what Emma Frost is like about her students being put in harm's way. The combined effects of him feeling significantly more at ease in Genosha than he had anywhere else, and his need to Help All The Kids lead to him dropping his application in the job hat. He has also, much more recently, begun trying to get involved in some sort of youth work, specifically for refugees dealing with severe trauma (because that's his speciality,) but any and all are welcome.

Oh yeah and also at some point he entered into a relationship with one Maxxie Oliver and he exists in a state of perpetual confusion about how that even happened.

PERSONALITY:
Terry's core personality traits are essentially the same as they were back in the day. He's still aloof and mired in self-identity issues, and he still has a soft, chewy centre of self loathing dipped in suits.

The largest and most notable change is that his growing confidence with his powers has lead to a growing confidence with regards to interpersonal interactions. He's still - and probably always will be - deathly afraid of hurting the people around him, and despite his confidence he is also highly aware that there are situations in which his control can and will slip if he ever finds himself within one, but he's more able to form connections with people on the basis that if he's not constantly freaking out, then he can monitor himself without it preoccupying his thoughts.

That said, he's still pretty bad at monitoring his temper. He's just not as likely to end up in situations where that will be an issue anymore, so he thinks he's better at that. But hey, at least he knows how to laugh and smile now! Even if he almost never does.

APPEARANCE:you know i was going to get my jason behr icons out, but fuck it he looks basically the same as he did 7 years ago who cares.

POWERS: The same as they ever were, though Terry is significantly more confident in his control these days.
